ADA sign maker.

Lay out a tactile room sign with raised text, Grade 2 braille and a pictogram, drawn to scale on the material and colors you choose. Check it against the 2010 ADA Standards, California 11B or Canada’s CSA B651, see the mounting height, then get a PDF proof for your customer. Free to design; SVG and DXF cut files come with a sign maker key.

PDF proof: free, with a light “preview” watermark, sent to your email. With a license key the proof has no watermark. SVG and DXF use 1 credit per sign; downloading the same sign again is free. Layers: CUT (outline), TACTILE (raised letters as live text – set your ADA font and convert to outlines), BRAILLE (one circle per dot) and PICTOGRAM.

Your design is saved for 30 days when you download, so the link in your email opens it again. To keep it longer, use “Save design”.

Guideline checks

These checks compare your layout with the rule set you chose. They are a design aid, not an approval or a compliance certificate. Final compliance depends on fabrication (raised height, dot shape, non-glare finish), the font, the installation and the local authority.

    Sign schedule whole building

Paste the room list, one sign per line: name, number, pictogram (pictogram is optional – use the icon name, e.g. restroom, men, women, accessible, elevator, stairs, cafe, janitor, exit). Every sign uses the same size, material and settings above. The ZIP has an SVG and a DXF for every sign (1 credit per new sign). Long names break onto two lines and, when space is short, the pictogram is made smaller in proportion – the sign size never changes.

Before you send it to production

    • The tactile sign goes beside the door on the latch side, with an 18 × 18 in clear floor space in front of it beyond the door swing.
    • Canada’s CSA B651:23 uses uncontracted (Grade 1) braille and asks for a lighter surface LRV of 70 or more with strong contrast. Its tactile mounting heights are in the full standard, so check them there.
    • California also asks for the white-on-blue International Symbol of Accessibility and for door symbols (circle and triangle) on toilet room doors.
    • The pictograms are the AMZE Studio icon library in four styles, plus direction arrows. Where a code names a specific symbol (the International Symbol of Accessibility, California’s door symbols), check the artwork against that code before production.
    • Colors on screen are estimates. Use the LRV values from your material supplier’s data sheet on the shop drawing.
